We, the family announce with sadness in our hearts, the passing of our beloved Trudy Ann Joseph on January 17th, 2022. Trudy was born in Whitney Pier on October 2, 1947 to parents Davey Joseph and Rose Randal.
Trudy was an amazing lady who accomplished everything she set her mind to. After the passing of her mother, she raised her two younger brothers at the age of eighteen. Trudy worked as a secretary in a law office and later became the first female ENG recording technician for CBC-Television in Atlantic Canada. Trudy married her loving husband Gary in 1988, and together they raised their son Randal. Trudy was asked to run the Cape Breton Barristers Library, which she proudly did until the time of her passing. She made many wonderful friends at the library, among them lawyers and judges from around the province.
She was an avid swimmer and regularly swam from May to October at her home on the Mira River alongside her special friend Peter Hanna. She also loved spending time in her kayak.
Trudy is predeceased by her parents Davey Joseph and Rose Randal. She is survived by her husband Gary Tomada, son Randal, daughter-in-law Megan and her brothers; David of Stephenville N.L., James of Hamilton, Ont., Robert of Sydney N.S., Mary Hellen (Murray) of Fox Harbour N.S., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Due to covid, there will be no visitation or funeral in accordance with Trudy’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
