OBITUARY

W. Darlene Janes

February 21, 1954 – April 21, 2020
Obituary of W. Darlene Janes
IN THE CARE OF

T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel

Wilma Darlene Janes (Dar) to her Harbourstone family, was one of God’s special angels who has blessed the lives of her loving family for 66 years. Born February 21, 1954, her work here was completed on April 21, 2020. She was called home to be reunited with her parents Israel and Johanna (Steele) Janes. Also waiting at that reunion are niece Arianne Ings and nephew Stephen Forrest.

It is hard to sum up the life of someone who loved so much and asked for only love in return. She was given a gift denied to most of us - eternal innocence. She was necessary to us because she evoked the kindness that kept us human. Her infirmity made us thankful for our good fortune. She has reminded us every day that she has chosen us as her family and we were taught to treasure her.

It was a privilege to love Darlene. She was a bright presence in the lives of those around her, loved to laugh and had the bluest eyes. She taught us all to love purely. She was the kindest, gentlest soul you could imagine.

Left to carry on her work are her brothers Wayne and his children Alana, Breton and Grace. Jerome (Donna) Forrest and their children Robert and Leah. Her sisters: Sharon (Bob) Ings and their children Joanne (Gordon), Robyn (Marc), and Trinity. Carol (Francis) MacDow and their daughter Mary Allison (Dan). Elaine (Robert) Chiasson and Madonna (William) Moore and their children Nicole (Chris), Brenda and Kevin (Joellisa).

Tuesday our family lost our most precious angel when Darlene passed away from Covid-19. If you or anyone you know still isn’t taking this virus seriously: Please do. She was healthy two weeks ago. Even after being diagnosed, she initially remained symptom free. That’s how fast it can happen. This virus does not discriminate. For the sake of your family - Do not take it lightly.

Much love and thanks go to the staff at Harbourstone who have been Darlene’s other family for the past 18 years. Darlene has been cremated and funeral arrangements will follow at a later date. Memories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
