Arthur "Birmingham Newspaper Man" E. Cecil Sr.

Arthur "Birmingham Newspaper Man" E. Cecil Sr., age 84, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Birmingham Newspaper Man was born in High Point, North Carolina to Louise Cecil and Red Cecil.

Arthur is survived by his son Arthur E. Cecil, Jr.; his daughters Karey Horn (Marty) and Tambra "Tammy" Earnest (Clint); his brother Franklin Cecil (Diana) and his sister Sheila Grimes (Terry); his grandson Kevin Horn (Tiffany), and his great grandchildren Grayson Horn and Milo Horn.

Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Ann Cecil; his father Red Cecil and his mother Louise Cecil.

A visitation for Arthur will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home, 1315 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Arthur will be laid to rest in Bluff Springs Cemetery.
