Benny "Paw Paw" Sturdivant

Winterboro, AL. - Benny "Paw Paw" Sturdivant, 65 years old of Winterboro went to meet his Lord on February 18, 2021.

He is survived by his son Kevin Sturdivant (Kim) of Winterboro; and daughter Wendy Hamilton (Dean) of Panama City Beach; six grandchildren, Dean, Ashleigh, Shelby, Tyler, Robyn, and Taylor; six great- grandchildren, Adrian, Stella, King, Prince, Naven, and one on the way; one sister, Doris Waldroup (Jimmy); one brother Raymond Sturdivant; one sister-in-law Joyce Sturdivant; a special friend Tresa Newton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Benny was preceded in death by his loving wife Teresa Marie Sturdivant; parents Curtis and Lois Lightsey Sturdivant; and one brother Bobby Sturdivant.

Benny was a hard working man and a jack of all trades. He worked for Pell City Tire for many years until the business closed. He then went to work for the Talladega County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer until Retirement. He was also an active firefighter and board member of Winterboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue. He will be buried with full firefighter's honors.

Pallbearers will be Dean Hamilton III, Thomas Townley, Jr., Buster Bolton, Luther Lackey, Scott Johns, and Patrick Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Winterboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Talladega County Sheriff's Office, Talladega County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments and Lincoln Fire and Rescue.

A special thank you to Bro. David Vick for officiating the service and singing.

A visitation will occur Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Sunday February 21, 2021 at Radney-Smith Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. David Vick officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Benny's memory may be made to Winterboro Volunteer Fire Dept.
