Betty Waldrip Jacobs

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Betty Waldrip Jacobs, 92, will be Monday, June 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Tommy Bounds officiating.  Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Hanover, AL.

Mrs. Jacobs died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollis G. and Zoe Alice Waldrip; husband, M. E. Jacobs Jr.; brother, Claudius M. (Mike) Waldrip; brother, Joe Ollis Waldrip; brother, John Snyder; sister, Cathleen Snyder Culberson; sister, Laurie Waldrip Stocks; nephew, Joe Tom Waldrip; nephew, Ollis Stocks; niece, Louise Culberson Forrester; niece, Faith Snyder Kirkland; and niece, Tama Snyder Croft.

Mrs. Jacobs was the Salutatorian for the class of 1943 at Weogufka High School. She worked as a secretary for the Alabama Marble Company then Georgia Marble Company for over thirty years. She was a member of Mignon United Methodist Church in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her six nieces, Nana (John Conway) Waldrip of Wetumpka, AL, Alicia Stocks Walker of Jacksonville, AL, Charlotte Stocks Collinsworth of Cartersville, GA, Rowena Culberson (C.H.) Beatty of Madison, TN, Zoe Elsie Snyder Crawford of SC, and Judy Stocks of Sylacauga, AL; three nephews, Jimmy Wayne (Judith) Stocks of Plattsburgh, NY, Michael C. Waldrip of Warner Robbins, GA, Shawn A. (Katrina) Waldrip of Milton, TN; sister-in-law, Martha A. Waldrip of Anniston; and several grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mignon United Methodist Church in Sylacauga, AL or the Andrews Chapel Methodist Church in Hanover, AL.

Pallbearers will be John Conway, Jason Stocks, Michael Waldrip, Shawn Waldrip, Ian Waldrip, Joshua Waldrip, and Ted Waller.
