Childersburg, AL. - Heaven gained an angel on August 2, 2024. She was born November 18, 1936, to James Berk Fry and Lilly Thomas Fry in Erwin, North Carolina. Betty was the firstborn of four sisters.
She attended Broadway High School until the 10th grade and met her first husband William B. Hill. They were married on October 16, 1953. William was in the Air Force at the time and when he left active duty they moved to Alabama where they made their home. William Hill died in September 2003.
Betty was a loving and devoted mother of three sons, who she cherished with all her heart. James Derek Hill, William Alan Hill, and Russell Scot Hill.
While being a full-time mother, she worked at First Bank in Childersburg, Alabama for 16 years and was the smiling face everyone came to know at the drive-through window.
Betty married Mack Killgore in August of 1993. They resided in Childersburg, Alabama where they attended Grace Baptist Church.
Betty loved unconditionally and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years Mack; son Derek Hill (wife Rhonda), son Alan Hill (wife Penny), grandsons Casey Hill, and Colin Hill (wife Caitrin), great-granddaughters Harlee Hill, Ivy Hill, and Lexington Hill; son Scot Hill (wife Lisa); grandson Owen Hill; granddaughter Avery Hill; step-daughter Tina Wagnon (husband Karl); step grandsons John Wagnon (wife Allison) and Sam Wagnon (wife Kaylee); step-daughter Traci Manuel (husband Bob); step-grandsons Clay Usrey (Monica), Drew Manuel (wife Leslie), step granddaughters Kelly Kline (husband Adam) Kerri; sister Shirley Phillips (husband Lonnie), Loretta McCarroll (husband Dave).
Betty is preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Edna Carter.
A visitation for Betty will be Friday, August 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
Betty will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL.
