Bill Goins

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Bill Goins, 86, will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Talladega Springs Full Gospel Tabernacle with Bro. Joe Kelley officiating. Mr. Goins will lie in state for one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Childersburg, AL.

Mr. Goins passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lila Goins; parents, James Avery Goins and Rosa Bell Goins; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and his son, Glenn Carter. Known as Daddy Bill, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. Mr. Goins was also known to be a hard worker; he owned and operated Goins Trucking Company for numerous years. He will be truly missed by many.

Mr. Goins is survived by his wife, Alice Virginia Goins; sons, Jimmy Goins wife Jerri Ann of Childersburg, Keith Goins wife Vickie of Childersburg, Shane Goins wife Angie of Childersburg, and Greg Carter wife Robin of Childersburg; daughters, Sharon Sherbert husband Steve of Sylacauga, Karon Bowden of Childersburg, and Padgette McGrady husband Randy of Childersburg; brother, Bob Goins of Childersburg; sisters, Rosalyn McCurry of Spruce Pine, N.C. and Bunia Carpenter of Canton, OH.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Friday, October 21, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

Contributions may be sent to Talladega Springs Full Gospel Tabernacle or to Farm Ministry.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Goins, Keith Goins, Shane Goins, Frank Thacker, Eddie Goins, Brandon Goins, Hunter Goins, and Houston Goins.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of J-Ann Haulers and SA&K LLC.
