
Montgomery, AL - Funeral service for Bobbie Redd Dodd, 89, will be Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Radney-Smith Chapel in Sylacauga, Alabama with Dr. Rick Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Mrs. Dodd passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery. Mrs. Dodd was born December 6, 1926 in Moultrie, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Leon Gaines and Luna Estelle McMullen Gaines; brothers, Kenneth Gaines and Freddy Gaines; sister, Mary Lee Gibbs; husband, N. L. Weldon Redd; and husband, James Ray Dodd. She was a part of The Greatest Generation; she helped build B-29 bombers during WWII. Mrs. Dodd was known for her servant’s heart, she spent most of her life tending to other people. She loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known for her nac for making amazing birthday cakes for neighbors, friends, and for her family.
Mrs. Dodd is survived by three sons, Andy Redd wife Susane, Tony Redd wife Belinda, and Ed Dodd; two daughters, Sheri Smith husband Kyle, Beth Marcum husband Lance; nine grandchildren, Gaines Redd wife Allison, Amy Presley husband Mike, Erin Redd, Tyler Redd, Morganne Redd, Jordan Smith, Anna-Kate Marcum, Austin Marcum, and Leah Marcum; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Redd, Ethan Redd, Calvin Redd, Dixie Redd, Benjiman Presley, and Noah Presley; and two brothers, Wallace Gaines and Cecil Gaines.
Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
