Joe was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, he loved his church family and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years.
Joe loved the Lord and lived each day as a man of God. He enjoyed camping at Wind Creek, fishing in his bass boat, and watching Alabama football. Joe loved his family with his whole heart and enjoyed his grandbabies so much.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Taylor; sons, Bobby Ray Taylor and Jimmy Craig Taylor (Patricia); daughters, Ginger Leigh Carden and Julie Patrice Skinner (Les). His grandchildren include Taylor Caldwell (Brent), Elizabeth Carden (Dustin), Jordan Morris, Stephen Taylor (Cara), and Joshua Martinez. His great-grandchildren are Bryce Caldwell, Cooper (Booker) Caldwell, Ramey Sumners and Riley Sumners, and his sister, Marilyn Laney (Ted).
He was predeceased by his parents, Bobby Gene Taylor and Bernice Carden, and his brothers, Larry Taylor and Randy Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at Fayetteville Cemetery, located at 5441 Old Fayetteville Rd, Sylacauga, AL 35151, on January 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Mike Dankson and Bro. Wayne McDaniel officiating.
