Buford Eugene “Gene” RaySylacauga, AL – Buford Eugene “Gene” Ray, 64, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2013 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.  Graveside services for Mr. Ray will be Friday, June 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega with Rev. Kory Burel officiating.  Prior to the service, visitation will be Friday, June 21, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home followed by a procession to the cemetery.Mr. Ray worked many years at Georgia Marble and retired from Imerys in Sylacauga.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Leigh Ray; sister, Alta Nell Bolding of Talladega; mother-in-law Betty Thrash of Wetumpka; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Alta Lee Ray; his grandparents; his brother-in-law, Gene Bolding; and his father-in-law, Sidney Thrash.  Memorial messages can be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
