Charlotte Ann Edwards Baker, age 84, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by love and peace. A shining light in every life she touched, Charlotte was known for her boundless heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering kindness.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Kevin Baker; goddaughter(cousin), Loria Smith; goddaughter(niece), Leslie Baker Markham; great niece, Blakely Anna Markham; sister, Pam Baker (Dale); sister, Sharion Lusk (Randy); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and "adopted" grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Frank Baker; parents, Tom and Janie Edwards; step-mother, Jerry Blythe Edwards; and brothers, Tim Blythe and Pat Blythe.
Charlotte shared her gifts generously throughout her life. For many years, she played the organ at her church, filling the sanctuary with music that lifted hearts and brought comfort to all who listened. Her faith was steadfast, and her love for others was endless. Though she never had children of her own, she lovingly “adopted” many, becoming a second mother and cherished friend to countless people who were blessed to know her.
Known affectionately as “the card lady,” Charlotte made it her mission to brighten days with handwritten notes and thoughtful cards—hundreds each year—sent for every occasion and often for no reason at all, other than to remind someone they were loved.
Charlotte had a signature saying that perfectly captured her spirit. Whenever someone told her they loved her, she would smile and say without hesitation, “I love you more.” Those words will forever echo in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to be loved by her.
Charlotte’s life was a testament to love in action—through her music, her words, her laughter, and her caring heart. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her legacy of kindness and joy continues to live on in those she touched.
A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, with Matt Hilyer and Mac McCaleb officiating. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service.
Charlotte’s family asks each person to honor her memory by sending a card to someone who could use a little love—just as Charlotte would have done.
