Sylacauga, AL. - Clifford Herringdine, aged 77, passed away on January 24, 2026. Born on March 24, 1948, Clifford was a respected resident of Sylacauga, Alabama.
Clifford entered the Army in 1970 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. His dedicated service was recognized with several honors, including the Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He received an honorable discharge, marking a distinguished military career.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margie Jane Herringdine; his son, Jason E. Herringdine; and his daughter, Rebekah Herringdine. Clifford was also a cherished grandfather to Rayna Herringdine, Logan Seth Herringdine, and Reed Herringdine. He leaves behind his brothers, Bruce Sims and Richard Sims, and his sister, Connie Hill.
Clifford was preceded in death by his father, Ralph V. Herringdine; his mother, Margaret Sims; and his sister, Betty Smallwood.
Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, located at 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama, on January 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church, 47435 US-280, Sylacauga, Alabama, on January 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Andrew McKenzie officiating. Clifford will lie in state one hour prior to service. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, also located at 47435 US-280, Sylacauga.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Holmes, Randall Collie, Reed Herringdine, Richard Sims, Walls Aaron Jr., and Cameron Holmes.
Clifford's life was marked by dedication to his family and country, and he will be remembered with deep respect and affection.
