

Funeral service for Coach Ty “Jabo” Cobb, age 66 of Sylacauga will be Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 2PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Rick Deerman and L.C. McMurphy officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30- 2PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Cobb passed away on November 23, 2017 at Coosa Valley Medical Center
He was preceded in death by his parents: Tyrus and Mary Cobb, siblings: Bobby Cobb, Pat Cobb Nelson, Tommy Cobb, aunt: Avis Handley and niece: Leigh Ann Cobb Davis.
Coach Ty “Jabo” Cobb was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and coach. Coach Cobb loved his wife, JoAnn of 38 years and his daughter, Kelli was his pride and joy however his two grandchildren, Tylon and Reese lit up his world when they walked in the room. He enjoyed his co-workers, teaching students, and coaching his players. He called them his boys because he thought of them as his own. His family was his greatest love and coaching was his greatest joy. He was a pillar of the community and a well-respected man. A part of us went with him the day God took him home.
Survivors are his wife: JoAnn Cobb, daughter: Kelli Cobb, grandchildren: Tylon and Reese Windham, sister-in-laws: Wanda Baker, Judy Cobb, nieces and nephews: Prissy Miller, Patty Gray, Joey Cobb, Rob Cobb, Bart Cobb, Grady Cobb, Brian Baker, Blake Baker, Brent Baker, ten great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews.
