Daniel Franklin Johns

Daniel Franklin Johns, age 81, of Sylacauga, AL passed peacefully away September 22, 2026 while being surrounded by family at Bill Nichols State Veteran Home. He was preceded in death by his dad Joe Lester, momma Ida Faye, his baby sister Debra Kaye, his brother Ricky Lynn, brother Ronald Dale, and brother Ray Lester.

He is survived by his son Daniel P. Johns (Sherry) of Leominster, Massachusetts, daughter Linda Johns (Dalton) of Sylacauga, AL and daughter Kristy Bowman (Greg) of Sylacauga, AL, grandson Daniel Bowman, granddaughters Savanna Barron, Danielle Johns, Toni Johns and October Bowman, and great grandbabies Kyla Clayton and Cole Clayton. Survived also by his sisters Wanda Cosby of Leeds, Julia Seale of Chelsea, helen Smith of Columbiana, Jewel Gasper of Panama City, FL, Darlene Schweinberg of Raleigh, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his kids and grandkids and be outside in his spare time. When he wasn't working and his woodwork and talent really showed his love and passion he had for it. And he loved spending time with his animals.

He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He loved everybody. He was and still is the best Daddy and Pawpaw and best brother anyone could ever ask for.

He was a retired Vietnam Army veteran who served his country and made us all so proud of him. He will truly be missed.
