David Harold Blanchard, 77, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on July 30, 2026. Born on August 29, 1948 in Sylacauga. Dave was celebrated for his immense kindness and generosity. With a heart as big as his spirt, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and show love to everyone around him. Dave had a unique gift for making every moment special, turning even the simplest situations into opportunity for laughter. David was an avid gardener and had a special touch with his green thumb. His ferns were show worthy. His grandkids appreciated his love for sweets because there was always a Krispy Kreme donut or Little Debbie nearby!
An employee of Sullivan Graphics for over 35 years, he was a devoted family man, he shared 58 years with his beloved wife Peggy. As a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather - he was affectionately known as Pappy. He would go to the ends of the earth for his babies! He always proudly cheered for his grandchildren at their recitals, volleyball, golf and baseball games. His unwavering support extended to his 5 nephews who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his loving family, wife, Peggy Owens Blanchard; daughter, Kimberly Blanchard Summersell; daughter, Kristi Blanchard Griffith; sister-in-law, Deborah Owens Motes; grandchildren, Clara Hadley Summersell, Claire Griffith Whetstone, Maizie Catherine Summersell and Conner Todd Griffith, great grandchildren Finley Blake Whetstone and Cullen Griffith Whetstone. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, Alabama on August 4, 2026 at 11:00 am. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct services.
