Mr. David Lee Edwards age 53 of Weogufka,Al passed away on April 19, 2014 at Trinity Hospital in Birmingham, Al. Funeral Services for Mr. Edwards will be Monday April 21, 2014 at Coosa Central High School Gym at 1PM. Visitation will be from 9-1PM at the High School Gym. Rev. Freddie Edwards and Rev. Jeff Fuller will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Survivors are Sons;Trevor Edwards, Travis Edwards, Lawrence Edwards,Mother;Bobbie Burcham;Step-Mother; Doris Edwards;Sister;Anita Edwards Yeargan;Brothers:Robert Edwards, Scott Edwards, Eric Edwards,Chip Edwards, Chris Bishop. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.Pallbearers:Coosa County Sheriffs Deputies.Honorary Pallbearers:Jeff Harris, Jerome Dates,Scotty Morris, Reggie Porter, Mike Wesson.Trevor Edwards, Travis Edwards, Lawrence Edwards.Preceded in death:Daughter; Mandy Renee Edwards; Father;Robert Lee Edwards.Background:He Established the Mandy Renee Edwards Scholarship and worked tirelessly In raising funds for college scholarships in her name. He was a Loving Father,Brother and Friend. He was employed with the Southern Company for 35 years. Chairman of Coosa County Board of Education, also a reserve Deputy with Coosa County Sheriff’s Department. He was a one of the biggest supporters devoted to the Children in the Coosa County School System. Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.
