Dolores "Dorie" BowdenSylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Dolores "Dorie" Bowden, 59, will be Friday March 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Jason Gravette and Rev. Vern Ogle officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mrs. Bowden died on Tuesday March 22, 2016 at her home. She was married for 30 years, an IT Specialist at CACC for 15 years, and an avid gardener. She was also the best "Nana" in the whole world.She is survived by husband, Gregory C. Bowden of Stewartville, daughters, Natalie Dolores Kirkland of Jasper, AL, Wendy Byrd husband Bunkin of Sylacauga, Jeannie Bowden Ogle husband Vern of Sylacauga, son, Craige Melendez wife Stephanie of McCalla, AL, sisters, Denise Mitchell of Sylacauga,  Joanne Almond Johnson husband Larry of Surfside Beach, SC, aunt/sister, Jeannie Craig of Philadelphia, PA, 9 grandchildren, Joshua Byrd, Matthew Byrd, Logan Melendez, Ayden Kirkland, Logan Clark, Houston Ogle, Shelby Byrd, Ashley Byrd, Hazel Doriana Melendez, and life-long best friend, Dawn Thomas.Visitation will be Thursday March 24, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to C.O.A.C.H, c/o Diane Mitchell,  15019 Hwy 280, Sylacauga, AL 35150.Pallbearers will be Mark Bowden, Patrick Businelle, David Evans, Dustin Stephenson, Paul Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Stephen Reynolds, and Sam Williams.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
