Mr. Donald Eugene Bacon, age 81 of Childersburg, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Coosa Valley Nursing Home, Sylacauga, AL. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. Rev. Frank Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
Mr. Bacon is survived by 3 daughters, Vicki Bacon of Childersburg, Carla (Greg) Bates of Childersburg and Donna (Keith) Mayfield of Childersburg; grandchildren, Audrey Bacon, Regan (Josh) Porter, Trevor Bates, and Maggie Mayfield; Great grandchild, Elli Kate Porter.
Mr. Bacon is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, June Ward Bacon; son, Robert Douglas Bacon; parents, CC and Stella Bacon and sister Jean (Alvin) Shoemaker.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church
Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.
