Donny L. Hurst was born on January 26, 1949, in Sylacauga, Alabama. He passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 76.

He is survived by his daughters, Dianna Campbell (Mike) and Elizabeth Hurst. His grandchildren are Allen Goss (Taylor), Mac Trammell, Alayna Goss, Austin Goss, Maggie Blade, and Sadie Blade. His brother, Eugene Hurst (Myrtis), also survives him.

He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Hurst, his mother, Mary Elizabeth Hurst, and his sister, Joann Johns.
