Ms. Brannon passed from this life and into eternal glory on Tuesday morning, 2/22/22, with her daughter at her side. She was born and raised in Sylacauga, AL. She graduated from Childersburg High School and married her first love, James Horton of Columbiana, AL. They raised three children, Johnny Wayne Horton of Columbiana, Teena Marie Horton of Sylacauga, and James Steven Horton also of Sylacauga. She loved and cherished her six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Forney Brannon of Sylacauga, her mother, Mattie Justice of Sylacauga, and loving sister, Doris Brannon Hardy. She is survived by her siblings: Janice Floyd, David Brannon, Rayford Brannon, and Felice McGathey. She was a member of Bon Air Baptist Church in Bon Air, AL where she could always be found singing offertory specials and serving delicious meals in the fellowship hall. She loved with an unending love and was a safe space for so many. She was witty, fabulously dressed, and the best hugger around. Viewing services for Ms. Brannon will be held at Bon Air Baptist Church from 12pm to 2pm on Friday, February 25. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Larry Cummings, at Old Shelby Cemetery in Shelby, AL.
