Mrs. Dorris P. Shell

Mrs. Dorris P. Shell of Sylacauga, AL passed away on December 4, 2010 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Shell was retired from Avondale Mills where she worked as a payroll clerk. She was a member of Mignon Baptist Church, Leisure Ladies, B.B. Comer Class of 1942 and the Joy Club. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Julius Shell. She is survived by her sons: Michael Shell (Teresa) of Talladega, AL and Randy Shell (Connie Lindsey) of Childersburg, AL; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; her sisters, Kathleen Bannister (George) of Birmingham and Thera Lewis of Sylacauga; her sisters-in-law: Alice Phurrough and Edith Phurrough of Sylacauga; her brother, Albert Phurrough of Sylacauga; and her brother-in-law Charles Shell (JoAnn) of Monroe, GA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home's North Chapel. Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the chapel with the Rev. Todd Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jason Shell, Julian Shell, Lance Morris, Joe Shell, Cody Lindsey, and Terry Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Skylan Williams and Charles Boogie Williams. Arrangements under the direction of Curtis and Son Funeral Home, Sylacauga, AL.
