Duane Newsome, 65, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him deeply. Born on December 13, 1960, in Pensacola, Florida, Duane was the son of the late Bobby and Betty Newsome.
Duane was a man who loved his family the only way he knew how. He may not have always been the easiest man to understand, but beneath his stubborn exterior was a heart of gold. He loved deeply, cared fiercely, and in his own way, always made sure the people he loved knew they mattered.
When Duane was younger, some of his happiest memories were made outdoors, especially while fishing and spending time with his son, Brandon. Those moments, simple as they may have been, became cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Betty Newsome, and his sisters, Robin Howell and Theresa Robertson.
He leaves behind his beloved son, Brandon Newsome, and daughter-in-law, Racheal Newsome; granddaughter, Tara Hatcher (JB); grandsons, Colton Newsome and Chase Newsome; great-granddaughters, Charli Hatcher and Mylee Hatcher; nieces Beth Crowe (Montique), Misty Wideman (Steve) and Kimberly Parker (Kevin); nephew, Jeremy Owens, along with a host of extended family, and friends who will forever carry his memory with them.
Though Duane had a stubborn streak that could rival anyone’s, those who knew him best knew that underneath it was a man with a tremendous heart. His life, his stories, his laughter, his fishing memories, and especially the love he had for his family will not be forgotten.
He may no longer be here to make new memories, but the memories he gave his family will remain forever.
Rest peacefully, Duane. You were loved, you will be missed, and you will never be forgotten.
