Elizabeth Ann Morris was a very loving wife, an extraordinary mother and grandmother, and a caring sister and friend. She was also a truly gifted elementary educator. She was born on January 28, 1951 and she passed away on February 27, 2024 at 2:21 pm in the afternoon surrounded by her loved ones in her own home.
Ann was born to Braxton Stewart and Mary Nicholson Stewart and grew up in Brundidge, Alabama. She graduated high school and then went on to Troy University, where she met the love of her life, Donald Morris. Ann graduated college with a degree in elementary education. Ann also went on to get her masters degree in Elementary education from the University of Montevallo years later. She married Don and they had 2 children, Bethany and Bart. Ann and Don were married 50 years. Ann loved being near the ocean more than anywhere else, and she made sure the family would go to the beach every summer. The ocean was definitely her "happy place."
Ann also took great pride and accomplishment in teaching her kindergartners at Coosa Valley Academy. She always said those children she taught were a blessing to her and she loved every one of them. She taught at CVA for many years.
Ann's true pride and joys were her grandchildren. She would say, "They are my life!" Her grandchildren kept her going everyday until the end of her earthly journey. She was so proud of each of them.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Braxton and Mary Stewart. She is survived by her loving husband, Don Morris, her children, Bethany Swiney (Joe), and Bart Morris (Melinda), her grandchildren, Hailey, Zachary, Kennedy, and Carson, her brother, Kenneth Stewart (Laura), sisters Margaret Riddle (Mike), and Elaine Driver (Joel), along with a host of nieces and nephews.
