A Celebration of Life will be held for Ella Sue Nivens Patterson at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Clanton, Alabama at 503 2nd Ave S on Wednesday, June 30th at 12 noon. Pastors Mark Lycos and Bill King Officiating.
Sue Nivens was born and raised in Sylacauga, Alabama. She graduated from Sylacauga High School in 1957.
She is predeceased by her parents Curtis Edward Nivens and Mamie Irene Bonner Nivens, her brother, Eddie Nivens, Sr., and her husband, Stevan Eli Patterson.
She came from a large and loving extended family and is survived by a nephew Eddie Nivens, Jr, niece, Rita Nivens Sims, Great nieces Katherine Nivens and Amy Kane. Grandchildren by marriage Todd Celske and Lydia Brenizer, first cousins , Wanda Burgan, Susan Grondin, Jimmy Harris, Royce Harris, Sandra Holmes, Linda Jelonek, Peter Newsome, Sherry Arnold Spires, and Jerry Stewart.
Sue was a woman who lived her faith serving in ministries at her church, Trinity Episcopal. She loved the Community of Clanton and could be seen out and about everywhere especially her favorite dining spot, Main Street. She loved watching any kind of sports especially Alabama Football. She loved fishing in her younger years and her nephew, Eddie Nivens, Jr. continues the legacy her family started with Little Tom’s Fish Camp. She always said she didn’t have children, she had puppies; and her love for animals was evident in her support of the Chilton County Humane Society. Sue will be remembered as a kind and generous person always reaching out and doing for others and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
