Sylacauga, AL. - Eric L. Payton, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Eric is survived by his wife, Lisa Payton; mother-in-law, Lois Jimenez (Uela); children, Stephanie Payton Thomas, Eric "Bubba" Payton (Tay), Jessica Bentley (Adam), Chelsea Blankenship (Jason); grandchildren, Morgan Craft, Payton Craft, Emma Payton, Major Payton, Curtis Payton, Cannon Payton, Lyric Bentley; sister, Alicia Bowden; brothers, Scott Payton, Dale Payton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Major and Annie Payton.
Eric loved fishing, woodworking and cooking. He was the best man you would ever meet and was an amazing husband and father. He had P&B Electric for 22 years with his business partner and friend Robert Burdick.
Back in 1996 he met, fell in love and married Lisa who had two young girls Jessica and Chelsea. A beautiful blended family was created that he loved. If you knew him you loved him. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone that needed it.
He was an awesome cook. If you have been to any of the places that he was cooking you would agree. Whether you were hungry or not he would try to get you to eat something. He has fed many in our pool while they were swimming. Jason would say it was like feeding the animals at the aquarium. Everyone saying, me me me me! He made a mean brisket!
A visitation for Eric will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150.
