Eulis OwensSylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Eulis Owens, 82, will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Pastor Harris Bond and Pastor Shawn Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mr. Owens died January 25, 2016 at his residence.  He served as President of the Lake Charles Louisiana Kiwanis Club.  In 1972 Mr. Owens was a member of East Texas Chamber of Commerce and a member of 1st Cavalry Division Recruiting Program.He is survived by his wife, Christine Owens of Sylacauga; sons, Curtis Lorenzo Owens of Ft. Worth, TX, Lewis Edward Owens of Sylacauga and Kelvin Lynn Owens of Houston, TX; daughters, Brendia Diane Bennett of Bandera, TX, Linda Kay Rutledge of Manchester, TN, Vivian Nanette Owens of Mandeville, LA, Ruby Jo Clark of Lufkin, TX and Shelly Faye Adkins of Ft. Worth, TX; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Rex Rutledge, Alton Rutledge, Bryan Sloma, Seth Owens, Caleb Owens and Isaac Owens.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Owens, David Clark, Milt Hurston, Greg Tubbs and John Jones.In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Resources for Woman (Save-A-Life) or The American Diabetes Association.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
