Sylacauga, AL. - Evelyn "Lyn" Murray Emanuel, age 75, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Lyn is survived by her daughter, Katie Emanuel Ferrell and son-in-law, Billy Ferrell; granddaughter, Taylor Ann Ferrell and partner, Theo Mangos; grandson, Will Ferrell Jr and wife, Brynne Long Ferrell; and sisters, Janet Murray Mathis, Jane Murray Massey and Anne Murray Moore.
Lyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Elizabeth Emanuel; mother, Harriett Rossman Murray and father, Lawrence Winfree Murray; and sister, Susan Murray.
She was a lifelong Alabama resident; she was born in Mobile and later marrying and rearing her children in Birmingham. Lyn was a seamstress all her life, creating beautiful outfits for her children and grandchildren. Specializing in children's handmade clothing and christening gowns.
She was a great Momma and Nana. Evelyn was proud of her children and grandchildren. Her phone was full of their pictures and shared their accomplishments every chance she had.
She loved the color Red, a good cup of coffee, and was very "sassy". She was funny! The nursing home staff considered her the life of the party bringing laughter and joy to those around her.
Evelyn loved all animals. In lieu of flowers, the family requests in her honor be made as monetary donations to the Sylacauga Animal Shelter, 41 Shelter Lane Sylacauga, AL. 35151. Indicate in the memo line of checks vet/medical supplies or food.
A Memorial Service will be held for Lyn on April 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 1912 Canon Road, Vestavia Hills, Alabama 35126. A reception for friends and guests will follow the service.
