The Rev. Frank C. Wise, Jr., age 92, passed away on August 28, 2026, after a brief illness. After graduating from the University of Georgia and serving in the U. S. Army, he began his career in business working with his father in Atlanta, GA. He felt a call to the ministry in the late 1960’s. He moved to Alabama after attending seminary and being ordained. Pastor Wise served in several local Lutheran churches over many decades.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa E. Smathers of Fayetteville, AL, and 3 grandchildren, Charlotte K. Harvey, Nicholas S. Murphy, and Dana J. Murphy. He is also survived by Glenda Emigh, a very special companion in his final years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lay Lake Volunteer Fire Department, 716 Heasletts Road, Childersburg, AL 35044. The memorial service will be private, at his request.
