Frederick "Freddy" Brooks

Funeral service for Frederick Paul "Freddy" Brooks, age 62, of Sylacauga will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2PM with the Rev. Wayne McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5-8PM at the funeral home.

Freddy passed away December 16, 2020 at Coosa Valley Medical Center surrounded by family and work family from CVMC.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Doris Smith, father: Wilburn Brooks, his loving sister: Lynn Stewart, and brothers: Joe Owings and David Owings.

He is survived by his Son: Alan Brooks, loving brothers: Hershell Brooks, James Brooks (Sherry); sister: Geraldine Smith; nephews: Johnny Compton, Robert Compton (Tabby), Danny Compton (Wendy), Clayton White, Chase Compton (Anna), Jaron Compton, Justin Compton (Anna), Hayden Compton, niece: Melissa Compton (Brady).

He was the most loving daddy, brother and uncle anyone could ask for. Freddy had a laugh that could light up a room, he never met a stranger. He loved his job and coworkers at Coosa Valley Medical Center where he worked for 11 years after working at Avondale Mills for over 22 years. The family would like to thank our beloved Hershell, Freddy's brother for taking excellent care of him for the past 5 months, and a extended thanks to the Coosa Valley Medical Center staff and friends for taking such excellent care of him.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Compton, Robert Compton, Danny Compton, Chase Compton, Justin Compton and Brady Wideman.
