Georgia W JarvisBrookshire, TX - Funeral service for Georgia W Jarvis, 96, will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Bill Cassady officiating.  Burial will be in Alexander City Cemetery in Alexander City, AL.Mrs. Jarvis died August 27, 2011 at home under hospice care after a short illness.  She was born November 28, 1914 in Elmore County, Alabama.  She was the youngest of 7 children of James and Dera Wood.  She is preceded in death by her husband William (Buster) Jarvis, Jr., and son, Hoyt Jarvis.She is survived by her daughter, Faye Sloat, husband G. Everett Sloat of Brookshire, TX; grandsons, Michael K. Sloat, David E. Sloat and Timothy A. Sloat; great-granddaughters, Sarah Jane Sloat and Jessica Lynn Sloat.Mrs. Jarvis has been a long standing active member of the Baptist in all her travels of the United States.In lieu of flowers the family request giving to the charity of one’s choice.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
