Grace A Green

Grace A. GreenSylacauga, AL - Grace A. Green, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Coosa Valley Nursing Home.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin V and Mattie I Green; brothers, Mac V Green, Bennett F Green, Robert E Green and Eldon M Green; sisters, Elizabeth G Edmondson and Violet G Harris.She is survived by one brother, Larry Green of Fayetteville; one sister-in-law, Shirley Green of Sylacauga and a host of nieces and nephews.Miss Green was born in Shelby County but lived most of her life in Talladega County.  She graduated from B.B. Comer High School and attended the University of Montevallo.  After teaching school for several years, she had a very successful career with the telephone company.  She enjoyed traveling, meeting people and made many lasting friendships during her travels.  Miss Green was an active member of Oak Grove Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  She was a very generous person and was always ready to help in any way that she could.Funeral services will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at  Fayetteville Methodist Church with interment in Fayetteville Cemetery with Bro. James Woodin officiating.Visitation was held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m.Pallbearers will be Larry Dobbs, Tommy Francis, Charlie Coleman, Joe Barnett, Roger Dicks, Harold Harris and Tommy Edmondson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Edmondson and Mark Green.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
