March 26, 1920October 2, 2019

Hazel Marie Parker, 99, passed away the morning of October 2nd, 2019. Our loss is heavens gain. Hazel was a spirited and devoted daughter, aunt, great aunt, great great aunt and friend. She graduated from B. B. Comer High School in Sylacauga and lived the majority of her life there. She was employed at Alabama Power Company for over forty years. She was very involved in Mignon United Methodist Church well into her late eighties. She loved her church and her faith was incredibly strong. Hazel was active in the community and had a heart for serving others. She was the Sylacauga Woman of the Year in 1959, was involved in the Girl Scouts, served as an advocate and volunteer for the Sunshine Organization, and played softball with the Mignon Athletic Club. Hazel was a very talented and driven woman all around. Her family will remember her for her sense of humor and spunk, the way she adored her family and her love of dogs. Miss Parker had three brothers and three sisters that she loved dearly. She is survived by many children and grandchildren of her siblings.

When our mother Eula Hatcher, was ill in 2005. Ms Hazel would bring food to share weekly for her. She was always a part of the Mignon church congregation, and always helped in so many ways in the Sylacuga community, A special lady, and i know that she had a loving family. I have missed her over the years, and I have known her all my life. I have a picture of her (prob 1950 or so ) on a basketball team my dad helped coach, A beautiful young woman!
