Jack (Buddy) Cornelius Mitchel, Sr. - Sylacauga - Funeral services for Jack (Buddy) Cornelius Mitchell, Sr., 82 will be Thursday, June 30 at 11:00 AM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Bill Brown officiating . Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell died June 28, 2011 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was a veteran of Korean War where he was the first jet fighter pilot from Sylacauga. He was a wonderful Dad, "Daddy Bud", and a much beloved husband. Mr. Mitchell loved to fly his experimental aircraft and show his Tennessee Walking Horse, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed to travel. He is preceded in death by his parents Merle and Dewey Mitchell, He is survived by wife, Priscilla Hughes Mitchell of Sylacauga; son, Jay Mitchell (Tonya) of Sylacauga; step daughter, Wendy Walker Pate (Phillip) of Sylacauga; sister, Ann Ware of Blue Ridge GA; grandchildren, Jack Mitchell (Kim) of Sylacauga, Annie Mitchell of Pensacola, FL; step grandchildren Blake Gardner of Sylacauga, Tara Gardner Clary (Jason) of Sylacauga; step great grandchildren, Brighton and Jett Clary of Sylacauga; special step grandsons Cody & Dalton Pate of Sylacauga. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29 from 6-8 PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Family will receive flowers or donations to your favorite charity.
