Mr. James O. McGrady

Mr. James O. McGrady, age 90 of Sycamore, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his residence. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Sycamore Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3 from 12-2 at the Church.

Mr. McGrady is survived by his son, James A. (Jane) McGrady; daughters, Rita Machen, Frieda (Donnie) King, and Connie (Kenneth) Reeves; brother, Jimmy McGrady; sister, Gladys Liner; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Darryl Machen, Wesley Machen, Travis McGrady, Adam McGrady, Jason Reeves and Shane King.

Mr. McGrady was preceded in death by his wife, Mary T. McGrady; parents, Toll and Ethel McGrady; sister, Dover Owen; brothers, Nolen McGrady, Earl McGrady and Robert McGrady; son-in-law, Johnny Machen. He was a lifelong resident of Sycamore. He was also a member and Deacon at Sycamore Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. He loved gospel music and spending time with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church.
