

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 2PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with Rev. Tommy Thornton, Rev. Wayne Henderson and Rev. Mitch Carter officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Survivors are his sons: James Floyd Morris (Julie), James O. Morris, daughters: Wanda L. Sperow (Tom), Rhonda R. McLain (Eric), brothers: William C. Morris (Jan), Jesse Franklin Morris, Roland Wayne Morris (Janet), sisters: Eunice Martin, Rita Faye Romero (Beto) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Catherine McDonald Morris. At the time of his death, Reverend Morris served as Pastor for Macedonia Baptist Church in Coosa County, and prior to that he served as Pastor at County Line Baptist Church for many years. He loved spreading the Gospel through his music and volunteered at Marble City Nursing Home as a resident pastor. Additionally, he spent many years as a volunteer in local correctional facilities preaching to inmates by sharing his own testimony of how he became a Christian. Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Scott Colley, Brandon Morris, Blake Morris, David McLain, Andrew McLain and son-in-law, Eric McLain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Red Cross/Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
Reverend Morris' children wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Uncle Bill and Aunt Jan Morris for their support and guidance during this difficult time.
