Mrs. Jean S. Holman, age 84, of Rockford, died Friday, September 10, 2010 at her residence. She was a member of the Alabama Cattlewoman's Association and a member of their Hall of Honor. She served as president of the Coosa County Cattlewomen for a number of years. She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Holman was a graduate of Girls High School in Atlanta, GA and also attended North Georgia College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Holman, Sr. of Rockford and her parents, Ed Smith, Sr. and "Ms. Bill" Smith of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by two sons: Charles E. Holman, Jr. of Rockford, AL and William H. Holman, also of Rockford; a daughter: Rebecca Harmon (Sammy) of Sylacauga; Grandchildren: Georgana Harmon, Katharine (Katy) Harmon and Nathan Harmon of Sylacauga, Charles E. "Chip" Holman of Hanover, Scott and Matthew of Birmingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Charles Sims officiated.
