Rev. Jeff Lamar Thomas

Funeral service for Rev. Jeff Lamar Thomas, age 79, of Sylacauga will be Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1PM at Bon Air Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Higginbotham, Rev. Wayne Polk, Rev. Harold Bannister and Rev. David Gaither officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Memory Gardens in Talladega. Visitation will be from 11-1 at the church.

Brother Thomas passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Rachael Thomas, brothers, Ronnie Thomas, Billy Thomas (Mayon) and sisters, Mary Cheatwood (Wayne) and Pat Thomas Osburn.

Mr. Thomas graduated from Samford University and was Pastor at Bon Air Baptist Church, he has been in Ministry for 52 years having served in Alabama, Georgia and Florida, He volunteered with the Alabama Childhood Food Solutions as Chaplain. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved his family.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Thomas, sons, Jeff Thomas Jr. (Natalie), Aaron Thomas (Scarlet), daughter, Donna Abrams (Tony), brothers, Lawrence Thomas (Judy), Les Thomas (Sherry), Jimmy Wayne Thomas, grandchildren, Blair Thomas, Carley Abrams, Seth Thomas, Ross Thomas, Ty Thomas, Lana Thomas, brother-in-law, Tommy Carlisle (Kathy), sister-in-law, Sarah Thomas Smith (Roger) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Blair Thomas, Seth Thomas, Ross Thomas, Javan Thomas, Brent Cheatwood, Dandy Smith, and Jerry Thomas.

Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Wayne Curtis, Charles Blackerby, Tommy Carlisle, Don Wilkerson and the men of Bon Air Baptist Church.
