Sylacauga, AL - Jerry Allen Dees, 80, died Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Linda Gail Dees, son, Kevin Dees, son, Gregg Dees, brother, Billy Dees, and sister, Alyce Munshower.
He is survived by his two sons, Scott (Marcia) Dees, Rodney (Debbie) Graham; two daughters, Paige (James) Davis, Kim (Derek) Hopkins; brother, Don (Myra) Dees; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 3:00pm at Fayetteville Methodist Church.
Jerry proudly served his country during his time enlisted in the US Army. He was married to the love of his life, Linda Gail, for fifty-one years. It only took three weeks of courtship to know they were soulmates. We find comfort knowing they are reunited (and smoochin’ in Heaven’s laundry room).
Jerry was a loving husband, father, friend, and doting Papa. Some may have considered his devotion to Alabama athletics obnoxious, but we will choose to remember him as a passionate fan. Everyone who knew Jerry can attest to his undeniable charisma. He appreciated the finer things in life, but also enjoyed gas station hotdogs. Not only was he a pillar to our family, but also to his community by serving as neighborhood crime watch from the comfort of his garage.
We will always remember Jerry by his charm and loyalty to his family. We will think of him fondly and smile- just as he would have wanted.
