I have known Jimmie since I was 16 years old. I met my husband at Auburn and he was in ROTC. We were in the military for several years but ended up in Sylacauga for one year. During that year, Jimmie and I took our girls, Lori and Melissa to the skating rink each Saturday. I had a hard time that year because I was recovering from brain surgery, and Jimmie was such an encouragement to me each week. We have been communicating through Facebook in recent years. She always encouraged me on posts. I will miss her very much. I am praying for comfort for Kevin and her children and grandchildren as well as the Leach family.

As a child I remember Jimmy Ray as a beautiful young lady with a loving and giving nature. One of my fondest memories is when I was a kid and was at her home, she had a date. While getting ready, she took the time to fix my hair too. I remember her gentleness and caring heart. I will surely miss you!
