Mr. Jimmy Obe Mooney, age 84, of Weogufka, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at his residence. He was retired as a carpenter from Bill Reed Contractors. He was a Mason, and served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He is survived by three sons: Terry Lee Mooney (Mary) of Sylacauga, Gary Lynn Mooney of Weogufka, and Charles Ray Mooney (Beth) of Weogufka; a daughter: Sherry J. Brooks (James) of Weogufka; 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2010 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home’s North Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Family Worship Center with the Reverend Tommy Thornton officiating. Nephews and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
