Jon’s life reflected a steady devotion to learning and craft. He attended Marion Military Institute in high school, an experience that helped shape his disciplined approach to the years ahead. He later graduated from UAB with a degree in Commercial Art, bringing together creativity and precision in a way that would remain a hallmark of his work.
Over the course of his career, Jon applied his talents with care and professionalism. He worked for Long's Electronic, served as a cartographer for Carto-Craft, and created newspaper advertisements for Handy City TV and Appliance—roles that drew on both his artistic eye and his attention to detail.
Beyond his work, Jon found deep enjoyment in the things that made life rich and expansive. He loved all types of music, and he loved to travel, embracing the broader world with quiet appreciation and genuine interest. He also gave his time as a volunteer DJ at Samford University college radio station, sharing music with others and contributing to the life of the community in a meaningful, unassuming way.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Evan Robinson, and his mother, Nancy Robinson.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Dykes (William); his ex-wife, Jane Allred; his step-daughter, Christy Izzett (Timothy); and several cousins.
