He is survived by his wife, Crystal Brewer; children, Swayde Brewer, Angel Brewer, Keylee Brewer, Hether Abrams (Chase), Steffeny Barden; mothers, Carolyn McGouyrk (Philip), Priscilla Denham (Glenn); siblings, Kimberly Browning, April Browning, Jonathan Brewer (Dana), Lorri Mancilla, Derrick Denham (Nicole), Kimberly Stephens; step siblings, Janice Duncan, David McGouyrk; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers from other mothers, and sisters from other misses that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter David Brewer; stepmother, Debra Brewer; father-in-law, Delmar Denham; grandparents, Frances and Bloise Butler; and grandfathers, Walter D. Brewer and George Justice.
A visitation will be held on August 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. A funeral service will also be held on August 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150 with Bro. Morgan Sims officiating.
Joshua was the kind of person who left a lasting impression everywhere he went. He was hilarious—often saying the most inappropriate thing at the most inappropriate time, and somehow making everyone around him laugh, even when they probably shouldn’t have. That sense of humor was just one of the many
things that made him so wonderfully, unmistakably Joshua.
He loved to talk, and anyone lucky enough to sit and listen could easily find themselves captivated by one of his many stories. He had a remarkable love for history and an endless supply of random facts that he was always eager to share. Somehow, he could take the most ordinary conversation and turn it into a story, a history lesson, or a memory you would carry with you long after the conversation ended.
Joshua had a gift for making people feel good. He complimented strangers, made people smile, and brought laughter wherever he went. He didn’t have to know someone to make their day a little brighter. That was simply who he was.
He was a man who loved deeply and loved big. Joshua was the person who would drop everything to help someone in need. He gave freely of his time, his energy, and his heart. He fought every day to make life better for the people he loved, especially his wife and children. They were his world, and there was never any
question of how deeply he loved them.
In a world that can sometimes feel dark, Joshua was a bright light. He loved loudly, laughed freely, helped without hesitation, and made the people around him feel seen. He had a way of leaving people a little happier than he found them, simply by being himself. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but the love,
laughter, stories, and countless memories he gave to others will continue to live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
Joshua was deeply loved. He will be profoundly missed. And he will never be forgotten.
