Sylacauga, AL - Kathleen Noland Vought (Kathy), 72, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home June 12, 2021.
Kathy was born in Winter Haven, FL, on April 10, 1949, and soon after moved to West Virginia. Prior to attending West Virginia University and graduating with a degree in education from Fairmont State University, she attended Ravenswood High School, where she met the love of her life, David Vought.
Kathy and Dave recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Kathy worked as a teacher at several schools but spent most of her career as the Title I reading teacher at Nichols Lawson Middle School. Her passion for reading kept her involved with the BB Comer Library and Sylacauga Arts Council for many years.
Kathleen Noland Vought is survived by her husband David Q. Vought, sons Bob (Jennifer) Vought and Matt (Bethany) Vought, grandchildren Robert, Reilly, Caroline and Mary Lacy Vought, Nate Cope and Burris Vought, brother Dr. Robert B. Noland (Linda), sister-in-law Connie (Tim) Staats, nephews Rob (Tiffany) Noland, David (Lindsey) Staats, niece Leigh Ann (Jason) Kerns and countless treasured friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Polly Noland.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Sylacauga, AL. Father Regi Joseph will conduct mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BB Comer Library or the Sylacauga Arts Council.
