Kenneth E. Abernathy, age 74, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Kenneth was born September 4, 1947 to Louise Hopkins and Drexel Abernathy.

Kenneth courageously served the country as a Navy Seabee with two combat tours in Vietnam.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Drexel Abernathy and his mother Louise Hopkins.

Kenneth is survived by his companion Martha White Hall; his sister Debye Baird (Tony); his niece Samantha Crump (Clay), his nephew Drexel Tyler, his great niece Elizabeth and his great niece Natalie. He also leaves numerous extended family and friends to cherish his memory.

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.

Kenneth will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.

Serving as pallbearers are Drexel Tyler, Charlie Abernathy, Phil Easterwood, Tony Baird, Daniel Hall and Patrick Hall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth's memory may be made to BB Comer Alumni; or Andrews Chapel Methodist Church, Co Rd 49, Sylacauga, Alabama 35151 US.

I have known Kenny since I have was 7 years old and he was one of the star players on my brother, Coot, Little League team. Kenny was always one of the good guys. Prayers for family.
