Kenny “KK” D’Wayne Kite, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away on July 16, 2026. Kenny lived with a gift for laughter that could lighten a room in an instant and could make you laugh even on your worst day.
By trade, Kenny was an electrician—he could do just about anything he put his mind to. Yet it was often his humor that people remembered first: the quick remark, the perfectly timed joke, the way he could find something to smile about even when life felt heavy.
Kenny was a loving husband and father, deeply committed to his family. He also loved his dogs—Dixie, Bosco, and Rosie Mae—and held a special place in his heart for Bubba, his faithful canine companion whom he called a son. Bubba wasn’t just along for the ride; he was “buckled in riding shotgun,” a true partner in the everyday moments that mattered most.
An outdoorsman at heart, Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing, and Bubba would often accompany him on fishing trips. And when the day turned into evening, another side of Kenny would shine: the “Karaoke Cowboy,” a talented singer who would sing for anybody willing to open an ear.
Kenny never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation anywhere—at the grocery store, the gas station, or just about any place he happened to be. More than once, that easy friendliness made him late to anywhere he needed to be.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Emily Kite; his daughter, Kelcie Roblee (Justin); and his brothers, Kevin Kite and Patrick Kite; as well as his dogs, Dixie, Bosco, & Rosie Mae; and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Kite; his mother, Patricia Kite; his brothers, Sammie Kite and Mike Kite; and Bubba Kite (“Son” -Faithful Canine Companion).
A Simple Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Harmon, Timmy Wilson, Beau Usrey, Timbo Plier, Patrick Allen, Jim Cullins, Rickey Porter, and Dan Graban.
Kenny's family would like to offer their thanks to those who have surrounded them with love and support at his sudden passing. In place of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to offer condolences consider donating funds to help the family offset the funeral expenses.
