Lelia Alena Ezekiel

Lelia Alena Brown Ezekiel finished her journey on February 20, 2015 in Birmingham, Alabama.  She was born on June 28, 1926 in Deatsville, Alabama to Jerome Canty and Josephine Brown.  She spent her life in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was married to William “Buddy” Lester Ezekiel.  Lelia was owner and operator of Ezekiel Grocery in Gantt’s Quarry.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church Sylacauga, a member of Sarah Sunday School Class, and a volunteer with the Coosa Valley Auxiliary.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.Lelia leaves behind her sister, Lula Mae Brown Buffington Creamer, Panama City, FL; son, Lester (Carole) Ezekiel, Wetumpka, AL, daughter, Sharron Ezekiel Hunter, Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Holly Ezekiel, Wetumpka, AL, Katherine (Thomas) Petillo, Nashville, TN, Lolita (Tom) Owens, Huntsville, AL, Michael (Sara) Hunter, New York, NY.  Lelia was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy.Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Sylacauga with Rev. Charles E. Sims officiating.   Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time at the church.Donations may be made to the general or mission fund of First Baptist Church, 10 S.
