Born November 21, 1929, in Sylacauga, Alabama, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Auburn, AL, in 2015.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands, Calvin Blackmon and Ensley Martin; her brothers Henry and Warner; and her sisters Ann and Clara.
She was the loving mother of three daughters: Donna (the late Larry) Davies, Connie (Randy) Rivers, and Teresa (Bill) Blakemore.
Her grandchildren are Ashleigh (Keith)Thompson; Jeremy (Lacey) Rivers; Lauren Putman; Sean Putman; and Cassie (Matthew) Morren.
She was lovingly known as Nanny to her great-grandchildren: Emma, Lilly Kate, Campbell and Gaines Thompson; Kayden, Layne and Harper Rivers; and Hale and Hayes Morren. They were the sunshine in all her days. She loved them dearly!
Margaret had a tremendous appreciation for beauty, especially flowers, music, fashion, birds and cats. Her greatest legacy will be the love she gave to her family and the countless memories she made with them. Her laughter, style, big personality, warm hugs and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Margaret held tightly to her faith throughout her 96 years. As the end of her life approached, she told her family goodbye and let them know she was ready to go to Heaven—a final expression of the faith that had sustained her throughout her life.

Funeral Service: Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 4:00 PM in the Chapel at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Sylacauga, AL, with Jim Patton Officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, AL.
