Margie Patterson SanfordChildersburg - Funeral service for Margie Patterson Sanford, 76, will be Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Childersburg with the Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Childersburg, Alabama.Mrs. Sanford died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Brookwood Medical Center.  Mrs. Sanford was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Childersburg and a member of the Talladega County Board of Education.  She was the first female elected to the Childersburg City Council and served as Mayor Pro Tem.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Gomez and his staff for their professional support during her sickness.She is survived by the father of her children, Charles K. Sanford of Alpine;  sons, Mike W. Sanford, wife Leesa of Birmingham and Charles  Pat  Sanford of Childersburg and daughter, Margi Kelli  Sanford of Alpine; her parents, Reedy and  Ozeal Patterson of Rockford, AL; brother, Wallis Patterson of Alpine;   6 granddaughters, Carlee Sanford, Leah Sanford, Sara Beth Sanford, Meredith Sanford, Laura Lee Sanford and Taylor Sanford. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to The First United Methodist Church of Childersburg in memory of Margie Sanford, 603 - 4th Street, S.W., Childersburg, AL  35044.Visitation will be Thursday, June 17 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.
