“Life Began in a Garden” is a sign next to the door coming into her house. So Marjorie Foster Caldwell will get to see God’s heavenly garden, she passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2026. Gardening was her passion and she was still cutting her grass at 93 years young. She gladly shared her many years of knowledge about plants and flowers with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Marjorie (or Margie as everyone called her) was born on May 16th, 1930 in Sylacauga, AL and lived there until her death. Her parents were William Harvey Foster and Clercy Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lec Foster and sisters Patricia Foster and Louise Holmes.
Margie was the owner of Kut N’ Kurl Beauty Shop in Sylacauga for many years. She loved her customers and got to hear about their families, travels, children’s marriages, babies births, and things that were special in their lives. She still remembered names of most of them as well as stories about them too.
She is survived by her son Steve Adair (Diane), and daughter Kris Moore (Barry); grandchildren Todd Adair (Lisa), Kelly Adair; Ty Smith (Amanda), Jared Smith (Meredith), Stephen Smith (Kathleen), and Slade Smith (Anne Margaret); great-grandchildren Karlee Adair, Courtney Adair; Henry, Evie, and Stella Smith; Aubrey, Mary Pryor, Hugh and Milt Smith; Suther, Foster, and Connick Smith; Selah, Ruth, William and Leo Smith. Her special niece and nephew Kay Tapley (John), Ronnie Foster (Mary) as well as special great nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, located at 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama, 35150, on February 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. central standard time with Bro. Jared Smith officiating.
