Marjorie Ingram, 94, passed away on August 21, 2026. Born October 8, 1931, Marjorie’s life was marked by steady devotion to her family, faithful service to her church, and a sincere, enduring love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Marjorie was a devoted wife and a loving mother who consistently went the extra mile—not only for her children, but also for their friends. She was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and she was, in the eyes of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, simply the best “Granny.” She found joy in the everyday blessings of life: playing Rook and sharing laughter with friends, putting puzzles together with her husband, Durward, going out to eat with her sisters and brother, and following Atlanta Braves baseball.
Most central to Marjorie’s life was her faith. As a teenager, she once spoke of listening to a particular man in her church pray, moved by how evident his relationship with Christ was in his words. Wanting that same closeness with the Savior, she accepted Christ and spent the remainder of her life sharing Him with others.
Marjorie was a faithful member of Glen Addie Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama, serving in many capacities, including youth activities alongside her children. Later, after the family moved to Childersburg, she joined First Baptist Church in Childersburg, where she remained deeply involved in Bible and discipleship classes. Her greatest passion in the church was missions, and she served in the WMU program in various roles, including as Director.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Durward Ingram; her son, Terry Motes; her parents, John Henry and Ola Mae Jones; her step mother, Sarah Jones; her sisters, Mae Minor, Evelyn Blackerby, Florene Rogers, Betty Spalding, and Alice Jones; and her brother, Henry Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Wesson (Earl) and Jan Coffey (Greg); her son, Chip Ingram; her grandchildren, Brandy Wesson Bocchino (Chris), Ty Coffey (Lori Anne), Darby Wesson Baird, Donette Coffey Worthy (Jeremy), Chris Gamble (Nicole), and Rachel Gamble Settle; her great-grandchildren, Abby Bocchino, Rylie Worthy, Kendall Bocchino, Charleigh Worthy, Blakely Worthy, Ruthie Grace Baird, Walt Coffey, Wesson Baird, Glenda Coffey, Samantha Reynolds (Jacob), Deliah Gamble, Savanah Gamble, Amelia Gamble; and her great-great grandchild, Elizabeth Reynolds.
Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, AL 35150, on August 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The Funeral Service will follow at Radney-Smith Funeral Home on August 26, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. A Committal Service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, AL 35150, on August 26, 2026, from 11:45 am to 12:00 pm. Marjorie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga.
Pallbearers will be Alan Brannen, Greg Coffey, Terry Jinks, Ron Ray, Ronnie Ray, and Earl Wesson, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Raines.
